I love my Chris Christensen combs and brushes. They are easy for me to hold for longer periods of time (my grip is weak). I like my Les Poochs slickers but have had to switch to the CC slicker because I have managed to stab myself with the LP way too many times.

I just ordered IOD Royal Jelly shampoo to help with growing coat.. I mostly use combs for the boys but thought that a brush might be better.

If you're serious about growing coat, I'd use a pin brush rather than a slicker on any hair I was trying to grow. I also use a greyhound comb to check the brushing. I like the CC pin brushes.

Keep the hair clean and don't brush dry. I like Ice on Ice, but YMMV.

I use Ice on Ice on my boy. I like the Madan pin brush. I also use a greyhound comb. For dematting, I like the LP one.

I'm also trying to grow some hair on my boy. Let's see how the silver boy will look in a show puppy cut :)

LOL, my boss keeps trying to talk me into gallons! I don't need that much, at least not yet. I can just see not having any room for my own shampoo b/c I have too many gallons of dog shampoo. It's bad enough w/ the smaller bottles.

I haven't used it but I'm dying to try the CC t-pin brush. It's built like a slicker but it's a pin brush, so easier on the coat.

I'm also going to buy some of the flexible slicker brushes from Petedge. I prefer the slicker on Roxy. I'm sure they are no where near as nice as the Les Pooche ones, but they are 1/10 the price. If I like the cheap ones, I may splurge later on.

HAHA! Me too! I have cuts all over my fingers!

But..even worse...I have stabbed myself in the thumb TWICE with my 10 inch shears. I have a painful hole in my thumb after yesterday's grooming experience!

I use the LP puppy one that was a gift within a puppy package.

For the Madan brush, I use the green one on Nickel.

I have quite the variety of items as I have become quite the poodle grooming tools collector/borderline hoarder! :P

Pink Maidan pin brush
Teal All Systems pin brush
CC Pink painted large gold pin brush
CC Oblong pin brush
Silver, green and purple Les Poochs slickers
CC Poodle Buttercomb
Maidan greyhound comb

I have bolded my favorite products. Also, with Tiger, I only use the slicker on hair that will be trimmed. As two people much wiser than me said, it doesn't matter if a slicker breaks the ends of the hair if the hair will be trimmed anyway. So, right now in his puppy trim, I use the slicker anywhere except his neck and topknot hair. On neck and topknot, I use pin brush and comb.

As far as products for brushing, I have used the following:

IOD Detangle - AWESOME for coat change, comb moves like butter. Coat does not get sticky. The strong smell does make me sneeze, but it works so well I put up with it!
CC Ice on Ice - decent for brush outs, but does not dissolve tangles like IOD detangle and Crown Royale
Nature's Specialties Quicker Slicker
Les Poochs Detangler - great for brushing before a bath, gets rid of tangles, but a bit greasy..hence good before baths.
Crown Royale - comb moves like butter, but, if not careful, I have found the coat can get sticky and heavy.
Coat Handler - it's alright, but smells like diapers

Again, bolded my favorites.

About ice on ice...is that like white on white? I was told not to use that each time by the person who sold it to me...but to use day to day each time and white on white or ezgroom whitening every 3rd or 4th time...was told it would dry the hair and was not to be used every shampoo. Would you all agree with that statement? I also have a CC brush and a madan brush...like them both. The madan one is much softer and the pins will lay down more...which seems good for soft brushing while the cc one seems to help straighten the hair better.

Ice on Ice is a conditioning spray that I use as a brushing spray. It doesn't have a strong fragrance and isn't sticky if used lightly. It will make the floor *very* slippery if you brush sitting on the floor, so be careful.

I think Black on Black and WoW shampoos will both dry the coat if used too often, hence the caution to use them occasionally only.
